Public Talks uses a Microsoft Access Database. This database comes in to formats:

  • Microsoft Access 2003 format (MDB)
  • Microsoft Access 2007 / 2010 format (ACCDB)

The Operating System (Windows 7 or higher) natively supports the 32 bit MDB database driver. Thus you should have no issues if you run Public Talks in this configuration. Also, if you have Microsoft Access 2010 (or higher) installed then you might be able to run Public Talks without any issues.

However, if Public Talks won't run or you are using another configuration then you more than likely need the support files installed.

It should be noted that specific features will require the support files to be installed. These are:

64 Bit Edition

Firstly, you should be aware of which bit edition of Public Talks you are using. Please click the link to read more.

Microsoft Access Runtime

If you find Public Talks won't run then you will most likely need to install the Microsoft Access Runtime. There are three downloads available:

On each download page you will be able to select a 32 bit or 64 bit setup.

Microsoft Access Database Engine Redistributable

In some circumstances Public Talks will not run even if you have Microsoft Access installed. This is most likely down to the fact that your version of Access was Click-to-Run install. In this situation you will need to  install the relevant Microsoft Access Database Engine. Then Public Talks should run OK. There are two downloads available:

  • Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 Redistributable (download)
  • Microsoft Access Database Engine 2016 Redistributable (download)

On each download page you will be able to select a 32 bit or 64 bit setup.

Note IconPlease contact me of any broken download links or if you are using Microsoft Access 2019 as I have not added support for it yet.

Microsoft .NET Framework Runtime

Calendar Synchronization required the Microsoft .NET Framework Runtime (version 4.6.2 or higher) to be installed. Here are some download links:
